Listening as Radical Act of Hospitality

We are delighted to welcome Jung Eun Sophia Park, SNJM, to lead our BIPOC gathering on Listening as a Radical Act of Hospitality. Listening is an act of hospitality in this global world, fully embracing the others regarding religion, culture, race, and gender. Any kind of border-crossing spiritual direction emerges from essentially hospitality, in which we hold the otherness which causes discomfort with uncanny feelings. For BIPOC, the border-crossing means doubling the concept of the other in the spirit of the radical hospitality, in which the host becomes guest and the guest becomes the host. Border-crossing act of listening, including the basic assumption that I do not know you helps BIPOC directors to widen and deepen self, the world, and God in the practice of spiritual direction.

This session is for those who identify as Black, Indigenous or a Person of Color who would like to connect with other BIPOC spiritual directors and spiritual companions.
