Are you conducting research in the area of spirituality or spiritual direction?

Are you seeking to connect with others undertaking research in these areas?

SDI, with the support of the Patrick and Anthony Wright Formation and Education Fund, is excited to host four digital research symposia, entitled Spiritual Direction Australia. This symposium will be free - all we ask is that you commit to participating fully. Whether you are a student, academic, researcher or practitioner, we offer a collaborative and open digital space in which to explore research in spiritual direction and spirituality in academic settings. This symposium will allow participants to come together to share knowledge, forge research networks and learn about research tools and strategies. Our goal is to have all those who participate leave inspired about their research goals. This Zoom-hosted digital gathering will provide you with an opportunity to connect with others who are interested in, or undertaking, relevant post graduate research. There is no cost to participate. All you have to do is commit to engaging on-line with your full presence. Join us and be inspired by research that challenges traditional models of understanding spirituality and spiritual direction. The research symposium held in Melbourne in 2019 covered a wide variety of topics from Indigenous spirituality, tending to volunteers, creativity, supervision, theology, mindfulness and contemplative science and resulted in rich conversations in a supportive environment. Whether you are still discerning your research topic or you are further along the path, please consider presenting a paper for presentation.

Formato

The aim of the roundtables is to present research and foster conversation and connections among participants.

Call for Papers

We are currently seeking research papers on spiritual direction and spirituality. If you wish to submit an application, please follow these directions.

Please include name, address, email, phone number,  a 100-word summary of your research, a 50-word biography, a recent photo and what you hope to learn by sharing your work. Please do not send your entire research project, though you may send a link to it if it is posted on-line. Send to SDI’s Asia-Pacific Coordinator, Dr. Kristen Hobby, via email: [email protected].
