SDI’s Rev. SeiFu, Matthew Whitney, and Amrutham Babu all spent three days at the highly acclaimed Wisdom 2.0 conference last week in San Francisco, introducing spiritual companionship to a diverse community of spiritual seekers and travelers. You can watch Rev. SeiFu’s keynote by clicking the graphic below:
SeiFu led off the proceedings with a very well received keynote. Followed by a “fishbowl” exercise on stage in the afternoon with Sara Critchfield, VP of Global Outreach for the Fetzer Institute. Sara and SeiFu modeled the hallmarks of spiritual companioning in a heartfelt session, including active listening, leaning into questions rather than answers, exploration rather than destination, and the movements of ultimate spiritual meaning and purpose.
Thanks to Fetzer and the lounge they sponsored, we were also able to offer 15 minute spiritual direction sessions to conference participants, numbering 50 or so before we lost count! Our deepest gratitude to Sara and to Fetzer for the wonderful opportunity to demonstrate our beloved modality.
