1/1 Spiritual Direction @ Conference

During our week together, SDI is encouraging the seeking out of short tastes of spiritual direction – essentially taking a spiritual “breather” in a 1/1 private session with a spiritual director.
How you hold space in these roughly 15 minute sessions is up to you – you can allow a participant to unpack something you are processing, something experienced in a keynote or during a workshop, or just share silence together.
The following friends of SDI have indicated they are available for 1/1 sessions during the conference, subject to their own availability. Please check the Calendly links provided to schedule a time with them.
Your spiritual director will give you instructions on how to meet with them. You can use the Whova app by going to the “Attendees” list in Whova, find the spiritual director you are looking for, and select “Send Message” to coordinate. In the Mobile App, there is a “Let’s Meet” option on the Attendee’s Profile Page that can easily schedule and facilitate a 1/1 session.

Becky Baumbach  My Spiritual Direction practice is titled: Third Heart Spiritual Guidance (thirdheartspiritualguidance.com) I meet with seekers who are in life transitions, spiritual or personal stress or discernment, or simply need someone to hold space for them. The title of my practice derives from the concept that in a spiritual guidance companion relationship, there is the heart of the seeker and the guide, but a third heart is present — that of the sacred or divine. With divine presence, the relationship includes deeply listening for that voice, allowing silence, creating new awareness and consciousness, and tools that invite embodiment of the sacred. I received my certification from the Spiritual Guidance Training Institute and work with seekers via zoom or in person.  |

Lauren Phelps is a spiritually-independent, Buddhist-based spiritual director with a full-time practice. She has studied in many spiritual and religious traditions, with her primary anchor and lens being Theravada Buddhism. Inviting interspiritual Divine guidance into all sessions, we may begin with prayer, meditation, or even silence.
Most sessions are contemplative and entail evocative conversations which move directees in ways that touch on places, times, and events where their higher power interacts in their lives.
I may invite directees into continued contemplation and discernment by offering Lectio Divina, Visio Divina, or daily examen as suggested spiritual practices on a regular basis.
In addition to individual spiritual direction, I participate in retreat settings and look forward to offering small group spiritual direction sessions. I offer deep listening, patience, openness, confidentiality, and commitment.
