Profile: Come, share your story with me. My work with companions is focused on deep listening for the presence of the divine in each story you bring to our sessions. I believe most who are seeking spiritual companionship come with a specific story they are telling about their spiritual journey. The story is the place where I enter into the journey with you and we begin to walk together, exploring it more deeply. I become your story witness, who will listen you into the story. I use writing in my sessions because as author Mandy Brown says, "you cannot know what you know until you’ve written it." Writing helps us to fill in the pieces that make the story make sense. When used in a spiritual companioning relationship, it's very powerful. In addition to a Master of Arts degree in Spiritual Formation and Spiritual Direction, I am certified as a leader of the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises. My academic background as a Composition and Literature professor heavily influences my work. I hold a Master of Arts degree in Humanities and a Ph.D. in English Composition and Rhetoric (with a specialization in Narrative Theory and Research). As a writer and former writing professor (who also facilitates small writing groups for women). Peace, Jane
