Profile: If you're looking for someone who is comfortable with who you are, right now or at any given moment, regardless of your religious/spiritual background, sexual/gender identity, and any other way you may feel "different" from the status quo, then I might be who you're looking for. Though now ordained as a rabbi, I identified as an atheist most of my life and only discovered the meaning of the word "spiritual" much later in life. That was when I realized that I'd always been a "seeker." I see all religions and spiritual practices as different paths leading to the same place. I love to bring energy healing, prayer, meditation, chanting and teachings from Torah into my sessions when they feel appropriate. Sometimes just listening is enough. Above all, I see the importance of being human. My goal is to be a guide to you in finding meaning in your own life and the path and practices that are right for you. A little more about where I'm coming from: I grew up in New York City, in a politically progressive home and went to racially/socio-economically diverse public schools. I became a public school teacher and ultimately went on to teach in community college. I learned to counsel my students and offer pastoral care even when I didn't know that's what I was doing. My students mostly came from under-served populations, had experienced a variety of trauma, both family and immigration. My husband grew up Catholic in Ecuador and my children, both grown, identify as bi-racial and were exposed to both Judaism and Catholicism growing up. I am passionate about continuing the type of pastoral counseling I began as a teacher and expanding it to the training I received as a spiritual director. I offer a safe space for people of all different skin tones, gender and sexual identities, physical and financial abilities, immigration status, nationalities, and spiritual/religious beliefs or non-belief. To learn more about me and to see if we might be a good match, and for my other offerings, please check out my website and email me so we can talk.
