Working with a Spiritual Companion is a process of discovery. I walk with you as you explore a closer relationship to what is meaningful and sacred to you. What is a spiritual life for you? How is what you name as Sacred and Holy calling to you in your daily life? What do you do when you feel disconnected or disillusioned with that?
I believe there many paths to encountering and engaging that Mystery which can never be fully named even as fully felt. Trained and ordained as a Christian minister (United Church of Christ), my journey has always been one of a bridge walker between traditional and non-traditional spiritual paths. I welcome radical imagination and prophetic voice as a way of seeking wholeness and connection for ourselves and our communities. I recognize our social identities are impacted by dominant cultural systems that can cause harm; including religious institutions. Addressing these impacts as part of our spiritual journey can bring healing.
During our sessions, I guide the conversation with deep listening, respect, and care, asking meaningful questions and inviting you to try helpful spiritual practices. You will discover and deepen what speaks to your soul and decide how you want to respond. Some of the processes that may be accessed include multiple prayer styles from a diversity of traditions, spiritual readings, artistic play and imaginative use of imagery, journaling, poetry, music, storytelling, body awareness and movement,
Whether responding to a specific transition or crisis in your life or wanting an ongoing way to deepen your spiritual focus, working with a spiritual companion is a supportive and encouraging place for you.
